Days of wind and rain followed by silence; earth drenched where parched only hours before. The mud-mixed clay of springtime waits for warm days, dry sun and the seeds of chance to fall. Rooted in the hard earth we press down through cracked soil unfertilized, neglected and less than rich for the wear. Still we press down seeking nourishment deep in the soil soaked below the cracked surface where water still seeps and supples supple sweet rain kept for the thirsty. Dig down deep push for depth where the moist sod dwells dark and rich below the surface of dry cracked cover. Be nourished and flourish in such an unexpected place.
